Job Description

LHH is partnering with a construction company that is looking for a temporary to hire Payroll Specialist for their team. They are requiring this person to work fully onsite in their office in the Tukwila, WA area but there is free parking. Your main tasks will be processing payroll, responding to employee inquiries, and coordinating with HR for benefit administration. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of payroll processing experience and have experience working on Viewpoint software previously. You will work with a friendly team and will usually not work over a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees on a regular schedule, including calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll data by reviewing timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documents.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to maintain accurate employee records and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Process and administer employee benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting.

Requirements:

  • At least three years of previous payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
