Job Description

The Operation Manager leader will manage import-related functions, including ocean, air & customs brokerage activities. It will help establish standard operating procedures and ensure conformance to operational metrics to continuously improve process flows. Support back office operations teams.

  • Must be proficient in Cargo Wise
  • Must have 5 year s experience minimum in managing a team of 5 people.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in ocean and air operations.
  • Must have 5 years of pricing experience for ocean, air, intermodal, and domestic trucking.

Background Required:

  • International freight forwarding industry experience (10 years)
  • Extensive knowledge of air & ocean imports
  • Strong understanding of customs brokerage processes
  • Help support Back Office 40 staff
  • Staff management & training skills
  • Knowledge of overall US markets (rail, ports & domestic transportation carriers)
  • Experience working across global network of offices and agents
  • Established standard operating procedures & metrics
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Location: NJ

Background Preferred (but Not Required):

  • International freight forwarding industry experience (5 years)
  • Extensive knowledge of air & ocean imports
  • Strong understanding of customs brokerage processes
  • Help support Back Office 5 plus staff
  • Staff management & training skills
  • Knowledge of overall US markets (rail, ports & domestic transportation carriers)
  • Experience working across a global network of offices and agents
  • Established standard operating procedures & metrics
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY

Background Preferred (but Not Required):

5 Years International Import FF

  • English
  • Client payments / Cash in advance / COD / POD / Problem resolution
