What You'll Do
At Americold, the success of our people is critical to the success of our business, and we are committed to the growth and development of all associates. The Sr. Manager, North America Talent Development will lead the deployment of all North America talent solutions. This role is responsible to ensure the successful rollout and adoption of our full cycle performance management process, talent development programs and leadership development programs for North America.
The primary responsibilities of this role include the following focus areas, working closely with the Global Talent & Culture team to establish processes and guidance, and then educating and partnering with HR and people leaders to deploy for Americold's associates in North America. The incumbent will have full process ownership of the global performance management and talent review processes but will still deploy all of the following programs and initiatives for North America.
- Performance management, talent development, and leadership development responsibilities:
- Performance Management: goal setting, the annual mid-year and year-end performance reviews, regular check-in conversations, performance improvement plans, and 360 feedback
- Talent Reviews: identification of high performing and high potential talent via the nine-box including determining talent risks and development strategies, and succession planning to enable increased internal movement
- Talent Development: individual development plans for select associates globally, identifying and assessing leadership skills and capabilities
- Leadership Development: coaching and mentoring programs focused on growth and retention
- Engagement: annual engagement survey administration and the training and guidance associated with effective action planning to increase engagement and retention
- In alignment with global Talent & Culture team, create and/or modify how-to guides and training, and schedule and facilitate performance and talent process guidance/training sessions for all associates in North America
- Draft ongoing communications to HR, leaders and associates, partnering with the Americold global Communications team on timing and messaging
- Partner with 2024/2025 Global track lead for Oracle talent performance management in line with the new Oracle system implementation; provide input and guidance with the design and implementation of the Oracle talent and performance modules
- Data/reporting responsibilities:
- Ensure HR data accuracy in all processes, partnering closely with the HR teams in corporate and the field
- Use data to evaluate and track the effectiveness of current programs and recommend/implement enhancements and new initiatives as appropriate. Prepare and report on key talent metrics including but not limited to talent review data, succession planning and internal moves and promotions
What Experience You Need
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of human resources experience focused on providing talent development and performance management solutions
- Experience working with talent and performance systems and tools
