- Develop and write functional requirements of optical systems development
- Develop optical conceptual design and support optical fabrication requirements
- Manage and lead junior engineers and technicians in conducting experiments in optical laboratory, assess and guide processes.
- Lead Integration and testing of optical components subsystem and integrating solution in collaboration with department engineers, technician and technologist.
- Support the development of optical subsystems that encompass industrial/mechanical design
- Use knowledge of C/C++, ZEMAX, python, and other software tools to add new design and analysis capabilities to the Electro Optics Department
- Create detailed task plans for design and qualification of optical systems and drive implementation on a set and timeline
- Support Electro optical systems analysis and modelling utilizing programing and software tools
- Develop models and simulations of key optical subsystems, laboratory optical setups and development project concepts
- Develop and design analytical algorithm utilizing knowledge and skill pf signal processing an calibration and imaging pixel systems.
- Develop algorithm for Electro-Optical/camera system qualification and testing laboratory.
- Perform engineering research and development of Electro Optics for industrial projects and train engineers in relevant standard engineering job functions
- Take input form functional requirements and derive corresponding specifications for imaging and illumination systems
- Design and analyse optical systems using sequential and non-sequential optical software (ZEMAX, other) and supporting scripts
- Communicate effectively with peers to derive requirements as well as suppliers to convey optical requirements and manufacturing concerns
- Design relevant optical lab tests, including test definition, equipment, and data analysis.
- Support optical Design Projects, including design, Purchasing, scheduling, fabrication, Assembly, Testing and delivery
- Support Cost analysis and BOM for optical components and optical designs
- Works Independently and with Team to manage, develop and establish optical designs for projects internal and external.
- Research and work with advanced concepts for development projects in context of Electro Optics systems and subsystems
Experience & Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in optical or Electrical engineering, or a relevant engineering or science degree
- On the job experience of more than 2 years with Optical and Electro-Optical Systems and laboratory, Laser systems, Laser research
