Knowledge Management Specialist
Period of Performance: January 16, 2023 August 31, 2023 (~8 months)
Position Description:
IDG is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to be responsible for the reviewing, editing, and tracking of website content for an online global community. The Knowledge Management Specialist will additionally be responsible for the development of materials for a monthly webinar, posting of promotional material on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook through the social media managing platform Hootsuite, and sending of monthly newsletters and webinar invitations to the online community s subscribers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Vetting and editing new, user-generated blog posts to ensure that the content is relevant, the language appropriate, and adds value to the online community;
Organizing a maximum of one monthly virtual event on a relevant topic to be determined in close consultation with stakeholders and updating event descriptions posted by users;
Develop the monthly community newsletter featuring the latest community content, announcements, and events;
Develop bi-weekly social media posts on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn featuring the latest community content, announcements, and events;
Regularly scanning previous blog posts to ensure that outdated ones posted more than 5 years prior are properly archived;
Maintaining keywords and search words for blogs, toolkits, and other content so that search functions produce the most relevant content;
Regularly update the Announcements section of website with appropriate links and/or attachments;
Filter and tag blog posts, tools, good practices, and other resources along the twelve topics on the online community: adaptive management, economics, employment, enabling environment, finance, market facilitation, markets and trade, markets in crises, private sector engagement, resilience, women s economic empowerment, and youth;
Identify short-term measures that the website can take to improve its current knowledge management system and procedures;
Other tasks that may come up in consultation with current website and knowledge management team.
Requirements
Experience in operating and managing social media communities such as Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin;
Experience in planning digital information services and products;
Experience running webinars, blogs, online communities and other online activities;
Strong technical writing experience will be preferred.
