The applicant will employ high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques to identify and validate novel protein biomarkers for early diagnosis and monitor drug treatment of prevalent UAE non-communicable diseases (e.g. cancer, diabetes, obesity and cardiometabolic disorders). Expertise in protein sample handling (e.g. protein extraction from biological fluids and tissue samples; protein quantification; tryptic digestion in solution/FASP), demonstrated experience in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), quantitative proteomics, large scale data analysis using processing/bioinformatics tool such as Maxquant, Perseus, Skyline and others. Direct experience in targeted protein quantitative mass spectrometry-based assays and experience in metabolomics/lipidomics/ MALDI-imaging will be considered an advantage.
Qualifications: Research assistant- should have at least five years of experience in Proteomics/Mass spectrometry and 4-5 publications in the field. Postdoctoral- PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cancer biology, or related fields. At least 2-3 years of postdoctoral training in a well-established international institute and4-5 original research papers, in high quality journals in the field of Proteomics and preferably in proteomics-based biomarkers.
