Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to support our production and maintenance operations. The role demands strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery and a proactive approach to ensuring optimal plant performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Plan execute and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment across the plant
Monitor and analyse performance of rotating and static equipment including pumps compressors gearboxes and conveyors
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Collaborate with production and planning teams to minimise equipment downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
Manage and coordinate with third-party contractors for specialised mechanical works and shutdowns
Ensure all mechanical activities are conducted in line with HSE standards and permit-to-work (PTW) systems
Support capital projects from a mechanical engineering perspective including installation commissioning and handover
Maintain technical documentation including maintenance records spare parts inventory and engineering drawings
Provide technical input for procurement of mechanical spare parts and equipment
Train and mentor junior technicians and maintenance staff
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 3 5 years of engineering experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics pneumatics and rotating equipment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings P&IDs and technical manuals
Hands-on experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
Sound understanding of HSE procedures and industrial safety standards
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the paper pulp or process manufacturing industry
Exposure to condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis thermography)
Familiarity with Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD) regulatory environment
