 Job Summary

The AV Presales Engineer is a technically advanced commercially minded specialist responsible for designing robust AV integration solutions across the UAE and GCC markets. The role bridges advanced system design with strategic project acquisition. The incumbent leads AV system design develops bid documentation engages clients and consultants at senior level and supports the sales team in securing landmark AV projects across corporate government hospitality and education sectors.

 Duties & Responsibilities

AV System Design & Engineering

  Create detailed AV system designs including schematic line diagrams signal flow topologies rack layouts cable schedules and network architectural pathways.

  Engineer advanced layouts incorporating DSPs Unified Communications (UC) platforms automated control infrastructure and AV-over-IP networks.

  Ensure all designs are technically sound commercially optimised and compliant with project specifications and industry standards.

  Maintain current knowledge of emerging AV technologies and industry platforms relevant to the GCC market.

Tender & Construction Documentation

  Review and interpret complex construction project documentation including structural plans MEP layouts ID drawings reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) and tender specifications.

  Develop comprehensive AV Bills of Quantities (BOQs) Bills of Materials (BOMs) and competitive project costings derived from architectural specification review.

  Formulate Scopes of Work (SOW) technical solution narratives architectural compliance matrices and responsive technical RFP/RFQ bids.

  Ensure all bid documentation is accurate legally sound and submitted within required timelines.

Presales & Client Engagement

  Conduct on-site engineering surveys physical technical assessments and customer discovery sessions alongside the sales account management team.

  Pitch customised AV engineering designs and present Value Engineering (VE) alternatives directly to consultants main contractors and executive decision-makers.

  Build and maintain strong relationships with external consultants clients and cross-functional internal teams.

  Support the sales team in deal structuring commercial positioning and technical objection handling throughout the bid cycle.

Vendor & Partner Management

  Foster and manage commercial relationships with regional AV manufacturers and wholesale distributors across the GCC to ensure priority pricing and rapid solution verification.

  Stay aligned with vendor product roadmaps certifications and new technology releases relevant to active and upcoming projects.

  Coordinate with vendors on product availability lead times and technical support for active bids.


Qualifications :

Education

Bachelors degree in Electronics Electrical Engineering IT or related technical field

Degree in Audio-Visual Technology or Systems Integration; AVIXA CTS-D (Design) certification


Additional Information :

Experience

  5 years in AV presales and design within the UAE/GCC market

  Proven track record on medium-to-large commercial AV projects (corporate government hospitality education)

  AVIXA CTS certification (mandatory)

  Valid UAE driving licence and personal vehicle (mandatory)

  8 years AV presales/design experience with senior client engagement

  AVIXA CTS-D (Design) certification active

  Experience with command/control rooms and mission-critical environments

  Established regional vendor/distributor relationships in GCC

Technical Skills

  AutoCAD MS Visio for AV design and documentation

  DSP platforms: QSC Biamp BSS

  Control systems: Crestron Extron AMX

  AV-over-IP: Dante Crestron NVX Q-SYS

  BOQ/BOM development from construction drawings

  IT networking fundamentals: VLANs QoS IGMP multicast

  Revit Bluebeam for advanced design workflows

  IPTV Digital Signage AR/VR system integration

  D-Tools or similar estimation/project management software

  Layer 2/3 network architecture for enterprise AV-over-IP deployments

Accountabilities

  Quote-to-win conversion ratio on assigned technical designs

  BOM/BOQ accuracy and margin protection on submitted bids

  Value Engineering (VE) acceptance rate and cost savings delivered

  Competitive pricing leverage through vendor relationships

  Presales bid turnaround time and documentation quality

  Engineering accuracy and rework reduction on BOMs

  Client and consultant satisfaction with technical submissions

  Vendor relationship health and product access
