Head of In-Process Chassis Manufacturing

Job Summary

The Head of In-Process Chassis Manufacturing is responsible for leading and optimizing all chassis production activities within the manufacturing process. This role ensures efficient operations high-quality output and adherence to safety and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement across welding assembly and fabrication processes. The position works closely with engineering quality supply chain and production teams to deliver production targets and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all in-process chassis manufacturing operations including welding fabrication and assembly
Drive production planning and execution to meet volume cost and quality targets
Ensure adherence to safety standards environmental regulations and company policies
Implement and monitor lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineering teams to support product design improvements and manufacturability
Oversee quality control processes and resolve production issues to minimize defects and rework
Manage and develop production teams including supervisors engineers and operators
Optimize resource utilization including manpower equipment and materials
Monitor key performance indicators and drive corrective actions where needed
Ensure effective maintenance and uptime of production equipment
Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
Ten or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing
At least five years in a leadership or managerial role
Hands-on experience in chassis manufacturing or body-in-white processes
