A leading tertiarycare hospital in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates is expanding its Intensive Care & Critical Care Medicine services and is seeking a highly skilled Consultant / Specialist Critical Care Medicine Physician to join its multidisciplinary ICU team. This role is focused on delivering high-acuity life-saving care to critically ill patients within a state-of-the-art intensive care environment equipped with advanced monitoring systems ventilatory support and rapid response capabilities.
The hospital operates a closed ICU model supported by intensivists anesthesiologists emergency physicians and specialty consultants ensuring comprehensive management of complex medical and surgical cases requiring critical care intervention.
Role Overview Position: Consultant / Specialist Critical Care Medicine Physician Location: Dubai United Arab Emirates Healthcare Setting: Multispecialty tertiary-care hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Experience Required: Minimum 3 years post speciality Practice Model: Full-time ICU-based care including inpatient management and multidisciplinary collaboration The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment stabilization and management of critically ill patients ensuring optimal outcomes through evidence-based intensive care practices.
Key Responsibilities Critical Care Medicine Provide comprehensive management of critically ill patients with conditions such as sepsis respiratory failure multi-organ dysfunction and severe infections Lead ICU care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation hemodynamic support and continuous monitoring Perform and supervise advanced life support procedures including intubation central line insertion arterial line placement and resuscitation Manage ventilated patients including weaning protocols and advanced respiratory support strategies Coordinate care for post-operative and trauma patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention Participate in rapid response and code blue teams ensuring timely intervention in life-threatening situations Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons anesthesiologists emergency physicians and subspecialists Interpret and utilise advanced diagnostic data including laboratory results imaging and bedside monitoring systems Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and ICU quality standards Provide family communication and counselling regarding patient condition prognosis and treatment plans Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records in accordance with regulatory standards Participate in clinical audits ICU quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs Ensure compliance with international critical care guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations
