The School Systems Administrator is required to implement, administer, support, troubleshoot, and maintain student information systems and other related school systems across the organisation.
- Drive the implementation of new and updated Systems
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of education systems.
- Create and conduct routine administration and maintenance of a range of systems.
- Installation and configuration of software and support with integration projects.
- Assisting in the implementation and set up of new systems across.
- Troubleshoot software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritising problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Upkeep of documentation and technical specifications regarding systems.
- Assisted in the setup/creation and carry-through of end-user helpdesk support efforts, ensuring all related application issues were resolved promptly with minimal disruption.
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of systems, including coordinating relevant backups.
- Ensuring new system setups conform to specified policies.
- Configuration and upgrading of systems (on-prem and cloud-hosted).
- Train and assist school personnel in utilising systems regarding data entry, retrieval, storage, security, manipulation, reporting, and disposal.
- Set up user accounts and assign correct access permissions.
- Support end users (password reset, lockunlock accounts, etc.)
- Implement group policies (access and permissions) for user accounts.
- Update systems with new releases, patches, and upgrades
- Support and resolve software and application issues.
- Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and documentation of system issues
- Monitoring system performance
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar
- At least three years of experience managing education systems.
- Must have experience managing school information systems, such as iSAMs, Engage, PowerSchool, etc.
- Experience setting up & implementing new software in schools is advantageous
- Working knowledge of school information systems
