What You Will Do
- Conduct basic and routine laboratory and shop tasks such as (laboratory board making, product testing) housekeeping, sample testing, and recording process steps and data
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks in an organized and timely manner
- Weigh out raw materials to make laboratory scale gypsum boards and structural panels (OSB and Plywood)
- Support pilot plant trials to make gypsum boards this includes but is not limited to: weighing out 40 lb buckets of raw materials, weighing approximately 40 lb boards, recording process variables during and after pilot runs)
- Cut building materials and construct prototype wall and floor assemblies (as large as 8’ x 8’ in size)
- Follow SOPs to conduct routine testing to characterize materials/ prototypes and evaluate their properties
- Record weights and measurements in a Microsoft OneNote-based Electronic Laboratory Notebook
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability lift to 40 pounds
- High school diploma with 1 or more years of laboratory experience OR construction experience
- Willingness to work in a hybrid laboratory and shop environment
- Reliable transportation and the ability to ensure regular attendance
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience weighing chemicals with balances
- Using power tools (i.e. table saw, miter saw, hand drill, etc.)
- Construction experience (i.e. building walls, adhering tiles, etc.)
