- 1. Material Receiving: Coordinate with the Purchase Executive to receive materials based on purchase orders. Inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity conformity.
- 2. Categorization and Optimization: Categorize materials as A, B, or C based on demand, criticality, and other relevant factors. Collaborate with the Purchase Executive and Logistics Executive to optimize storage and transportation quantities for cost savings.
- 3. Inventory Management: Assign specific locations within the warehouse for different materials. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and update the inventory system. Implement a first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory system.
- 4. Material Handling: Use appropriate equipment and handling procedures to prevent damage to materials. Implement safety measures to protect warehouse staff.
- 5. Material Preparation for Dispatch: Collaborate with the Logistics Executive to prepare materials for shipment. Ensure proper packaging and labeling of materials.
- 6. Sales Executive Involvement: If Sales Executives need to inspect materials for specific orders, facilitate their access to the warehouse.
- 7. Dispatch Coordination: Work closely with the Logistics Executive to ensure timely dispatch of materials. Prepare necessary documentation for outgoing shipments.
- 8. Quality Control: Periodically inspect materials in storage to ensure they remain in good condition. Address any issues related to material quality promptly.
- 9. Safety and Security: Enforce safety protocols within the warehouse to protect employees and materials. Implement security measures to prevent theft or unauthorized access.
- 10. Reporting and Record Keeping: Maintain records of all material movements, categorization efforts, and optimization results. Provide regular reports on inventory levels and material categorization to management.
- 11. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate warehouse layout, material handling processes and inventory management strategies for improvement. Collaborate with the Purchase Executive and Logistics Executive to enhance overall procurement
