- Carries out original investigative short-term applied industrial research studies to resolve urgent, complex and unique technical problems for which relevant published literature is lacking.
- Provides consulting interaction with other departments and with US Companies' representatives on matters relating to his area of expertise.
- Conducts information seminars and technical presentations in areas of his principal contacts to report on studies or other areas relating to his expertise.
- Develops ideas for potential improvements in exploration, producing operations and processes. Details course of study and research for justification to Manager.
- Directs, guides and counsels others assigned to assist him. Trains new specialists.
- Keeps current on new developments in his held of expertise. Actively participates in work of technical societies (e.g., SPE, ASTM, ACS).
