Structural Engineer

• Work closely with the building permit applications team to review structural designs for safety, code compliance, and adherence to departmental policies.
• Effectively communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities regarding project requirements and documentation for building permit submissions.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of structural systems, models, designs, and interpret results using structural design software. This ensures the safety and stability of structures in accordance with governing codes.
• Perform structural analysis and design using software and hand calculations to guarantee structural integrity.
• Review all project documentation and deliverables to ensure alignment with company policies and procedures.
• Manage departmental projects with the team, leveraging familiarity with project management practices.
• Support clients and company projects by providing guidance on structural design, potential improvements, and execution.
• Maintain, organize, and track TSS permits, approvals, drawings, and other technical documentation to ensure easy retrieval.
• Ensure all projects/applications comply with company regulations and relevant authority requirements to obtain building permit approvals.
• Oversee NOC (No Objection Certificate) processes with local and federal authorities for infrastructure works.
• Follow up with concerned staff regarding approvals for permits, drawings, NOCs, and other technical documentation to ensure timely completion.
• Escalate any unresolved issues to the line manager and follow up until resolution.
• Prepare structural design reports and recommend potential improvements for existing buildings.
• Calculate loads and stresses for industrial construction and other applications.
• Participate in contractor work review and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

What you'll need to succeed

• UAE National with a Family Book as per government requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years' experience in similar role / Engineering Consulting firms or municipal/ construction permitting authorities.
• Fluent in English and Arabic. Ability to communicate well in industry language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use structural calculations software. Effective technical skills.
• Ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently.
• Highly organized and process oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Possess sound work ethics, cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
