Job Title: Structural Design Manager

Location: Sharjah

JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities

1) Performing structural analysis and engaging in the design of steel and/or transportation structures for both new construction and rehabilitation

2) Preparing technical/design reports and calculations packages

3) Preparing construction drawings and specifications

4) Attending design meetings and site inspections with our clients subconsultants and partners on an as needed basis

5) Interacting and collaborating with our inhouse drafters and other engineers

6) Designing various structures and producing contract documents for various building types retaining walls foundations and wastewater treatment plant

7) Communicates with other departments to ensure all documentation required is contained within the tender submission.

8) Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.

9) Prepares construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.

10) Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes additions and site requirements.

11) Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.

12) Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.

13) Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

14) Prepares draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tender are included

15) Interprets & review system drawings to identify any difference to tender requirements and raise queries against specification.

16) Construes and follow company tendering processes and procedures to ensure all aspects of tenders are met including relevant discipline codes and standards.

17) Reviews the design outputs for compliance with contractual requirement.

18) Gathers opinion of the project team and fabrication team on the engineering details to prepare final controlled documents of tender

19) Assess the impact due to design changes and revision works due to client instructions.

20) Ensures the project output meeting to the requirement of codes and specifications.

21) Would be responsible for the filling of various tenders with all the formalities.

22) Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

23) Maintains continuity among corporate division and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs.

24) Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

25) Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

1) 10 years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a fabrication environment

2) Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from an ABETaccredited program

3) Proficient in Revit AutoCAD RAM Structural System and Microsoft Office Suite

4) Experience in Risa 2D Risa 3D SAP 2000

5) S.E. preferred but not required

2) 10 years of experience in the structural analysis and design of structural projects preferred

3) Experience in ETABS is preferred but not required

Salary: AED7500.00 AED8000.00 per month
