Job Description
Our client, a leading digital wallet start-up, is looking for an experienced and passionate Backend Engineer to join our team in building a core piece of web3 infrastructure - the ability layer. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge and experience with modern backend technologies like Node.js, Typescript, AWS, and Postgres.
The Backend Engineer will be responsible for building clean, maintainable, and well-tested backend code, collaborating with product teams to define and prioritize tasks, designing and architecting backend REST APIs, and managing a team of backend engineers.
The projects that the engineer may be working on include building the Daylight API - a robust, scalable, and developer-friendly API that the biggest web3 apps and wallets will use - and engineer their Cataloger backend, building a service that ingests abilities across many sources and serves up abilities via API.
The ideal candidate should have experience designing and building out programmatic APIs, maintaining highly available infrastructure, and have an excitement for making web3 more friendly.
Responsibilities: Designing data structures to represent the blockchain Implementing data structures using Rust and databases Optimizing data model for smart contract developers Implementing mechanisms for efficient and responsible use of on-chain storage Implementing authentication data structures for trustless collaboration of blockchain data shards Optimizing data flow and architecture within Aptos nodes Qualifications: 7+ years of software engineering experience Experience with key-value stores, relational databases, file systems, and caches Familiarity with data structures Experience with system performance optimization Experience with Rust or C/C++ Preferred qualifications: Located in US (Bay Area) or London Fluent in English Experience with Layer 1s, top blockchain companies, DeFi or top Web2 companies Note: Junior candidates may be expected to relocate to Bay Area, and visa sponsorship is offered.
