McKie Recruit are pleased to share this fantastic opportunity in a top 100 law firm. The firm is a market leader in both the Personal Injury Sector and Clinical Negligence. Our client is seeking a Personal Injury litigation assistant to join their graduate scheme. This is the perfect first step to becoming qualified. From day one you will be working towards a training contract. Our client already has almost 70 other trainee solicitors undertaking a combination of the traditional route to qualifying via LPC or the SQE Degree Apprenticeship.

Job Specification

Your roles will include different areas of Personal Injury Law- including RTA, EL, OL/PL, & Clinical Negligence.

  • Chasing by telephone, e.g. medical records, police reports, engineer assessments, and client statements
  • Detail checking. Making sure the initial attendance is accurate. Keeping the case management file fully up to date
  • Client care
  • Document analysis. Research, review of expert reports, review of denials, quantum reviews, drafting of court documentation, attending applications, attending conferences, taking notes
  • Witness statements
  • Weekly reviews with supervisors
  • Four monthly appraisals to discuss you and your career
  • Task management. You will be supporting a lawyer and their clients.
  • Case progression


Requirements

For this position, our clients seek candidates who have strong legal academic achievements (LLB, LLM, LPC, GDL). Ideally this will be in tandem with relevant work experience. The successful candidate will be expected to show desire for helping injured people as well as strong commercial acumen.

  • Starting Salary is 20,000
  • Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30am Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday
  • 3/2 alternative working from home pattern staff after probation
  • 23 days holiday a year, rising to 26 days (3 days reserved for Christmas closure of the office)
  • 3 holiday buy backs per year after 1 year of service
