Safety Engineer - Gas Line Pipe Construction

Responsibilities:

• Develop implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs policies and procedures for gas line pipe construction projects to ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards assess risks and implement effective control measures to mitigate workplace accidents and injuries.
• Collaborate with project managers engineers and contractors to integrate safety considerations into project planning design and execution phases.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel on safetyrelated matters including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) safe work practices and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents accidents and nearmisses and prepare detailed incident reports root cause analyses and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Review and approve contractor safety plans method statements and risk assessments to ensure alignment with project safety objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements including waste management and pollution control measures.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies clients and other stakeholders on safetyrelated matters including permit applications inspections and compliance audits.
• Stay updated on industry best practices emerging trends and regulatory changes in safety engineering and occupational health to continuously improve safety performance and reduce risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering preferably in gas line pipe construction or related industries.
• NEBOSH certification (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with safety management systems (SMS) risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification techniques.
• Strong technical knowledge of safety engineering principles standards and regulations.
• Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
• Effective communication interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.
• Valid UAE driving license preferred.
• Must possess own visa or obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer.

Duration: 18 months contract
