The Role:
We are seeking dedicated Surgical Service Registrars (Year 1-7) to join a wonderful health service.  Salary - $115,028 - $177,010

You will:

• Perform a range of common surgical procedures under supervision Provide a high quality, patient centred care to patients.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to review the medical needs of patients within the hospital.
• Provide teaching and support to Doctors in Training, Nursing, Allied Health, and other team members across the service.

Hospital:
A general hospital treating on average more than 23000 inpatients annually.
Transitioning the hospital to public hands paves the way for the hospital’s redevelopment and service transformation to meet the needs of the region.

The General Surgery unit is responsible for acute and elective admissions. There is a broad case mix of elective and emergency surgical cases with an excellent opportunity to assist in theatre. The variety of surgical presentations to the Emergency Department that require initial review by the surgical JMO team will fast-track and develop your surgical assessment skills.

Essential Selection Criteria

1. Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience sufficient to undertake the safe care of patients of the specialty.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide medical education, teaching, supervision, training and support to resident medical officers and interns.
