Raw Material Specialist

One of our esteemed clients in the ship building industry is currently seeking a Raw Material Specialist to be based in Dammam Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Job Overview:

As a Raw Material Specialist you will play a critical role in managing and ensuring the quality and availability of raw materials essential for shipbuilding and maritime operations. Your experience in materials management procurement and your deep understanding of the maritime industry will be instrumental in optimizing our material sourcing and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and source raw materials required for shipbuilding ensuring the availability of materials for production.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the quality and specifications of raw materials meet industry standards and requirements.
• Manage raw material inventory levels ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Monitor and control material costs identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to determine material specifications and requirements for shipbuilding projects.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to material sourcing and environmental standards.
• Evaluate and improve material sourcing and inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and costeffectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Materials Management Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Raw Material Specialist or in materials management within the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
• Proficiency in materials procurement quality control and inventory management.
• Knowledge of material specifications and requirements in shipbuilding.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Saudi Nationals are given first preference.
