Job Description

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, is seeking to hire a postdoctoral research associate to work with Professor Oussama El-Kadri on the development of porous materials (polymers, MOFs, COFs, etc.) for hydrogen storage application. Ideal applicants should be self-motivated and independent researchers with a strong background in the all aspects of porous materials chemistry, including synthesis and characterization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct all experimental work related to the project
  • Produce monthly reports and help in writing manuscripts
  • Provide occasional lab supervision to shadowing undergraduate students
  • Adhere to laboratory safety rules

Qualifications And Experience Required

  • PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or material science
  • Proven skills in chemical synthesis and preparation of polymers and/or porous material
  • Strong skills in characterization techniques and operating instruments such as BET surface area measurements, SEM, TGA, etc.
