Skills:

We are seeking a highly skilled and 10 years of experienced Linux and Windows

Platform Engineer to manage maintain and optimize our diverse server

infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Linux and

Windows server environments possess expertlevel knowledge of system

administration and be capable of effectively managing and troubleshooting complex

IT systems.

Key accountabilities & Tasks

1. Server Infrastructure Management:

o Manage maintain and optimize a mixed environment of Linux and Windows servers

ensuring their reliability and availability.

o Manage and maintain Oracle VM environment OEM OEMOC HyperV VMware

o Manage virtual machines and containerized environments for scalable and efficient

deployments.

o Support Exadata operating system and hardware level Experience to integrate

services SaaS to IaaS/PaaS and vice versa.

2. System Administration:

o Perform system administration tasks including installation configuration security

and maintenance of servers and associated systems.

3. Storage Virtualization:

o Configure and manage storage virtualization technologies such as virtual storage

appliances (VSAs) and softwaredefined storage (SDS).

o Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance

with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.

4. Patch Management:

o Implement patch management procedures to keep server operating systems

software and applications up to date.

5. Security and Compliance:

o Ensure server security by implementing best practices security policies and

compliance standards.

6. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

o Diagnose and resolve system and network issues including performance

optimization and system failures.

o Open cases and followup with vendors for technical issues as and when required.

o Collaborate with technical teams and management to ensure high system availability

to users.

o Recommend evaluate and test new technologies and tools including opensource.

7. Backup and Disaster Recovery:

o Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and ensure regular testing.

8. Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

o Implement monitoring solutions to proactively detect and address performance issues

and optimize resource usage.

9. Automation and Scripting:

o Create and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.

o Utilize scripting languages and Ansible to automate activities.

o Scripting like shell or python will be added.

10.Documentation:

o Maintain comprehensive documentation/SOP of server configurations policies and

Procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or

equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in managing Linux and Windows server environments including

virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware HyperV OVM KVM).

Proficiency in system administration and configuration scripting (Bash PowerShell) and

automation tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet or Chef).

Strong understanding of security best practices and network protocols.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure OCI) is a plus.

Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as OCI foundation or architect Certification in ITIL V4 Microsoft

Certified: Azure Administrator or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are a plus.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Proactive approach to problemsolving.
