- Provides and monitors direct and indirect patient care to achieve optimum patient outcomes.
- Assumes accountability and responsibility for own practice and does not carry out tasks beyond the level of competence.
- Incorporates the religious and cultural needs of the patient in their individualized care and includes input from family members.
- Coordinates individualized care from the point of first contact throughout the episode of care.
- Maintaining timely and accurate nursing records and ensuring that confidentiality is observed
- Maintaining professional relationships with patients and relatives being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy, and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
- Documents all assessments, interventions, and other pertinent information in the patient’s health care record in a timely and ongoing manner.
- Aware of individual roles in audit and research, can maintain an effective audit trail and work towards continuous improvement in quality assurance programs.
- Demonstrates service excellence and acts as a patient advocate to support the patient’s rights and dignity at all times.
- Ensures all equipment and resources are maintained and used, economically and efficiently.
- Promptly reports to Nurse Manager Unit/ Charge nurse/ Team Leader/Registered Nurse and assists in investigating complaints and incidents about patient care by Hospital Policy.
- Coordinates referrals and utilizes available resources for the provision of comprehensive care to patients and families.
- Promotes and utilizes evidence-based practice in the provision of care
- Facilitates a climate of mutual understanding and acceptance of cross JOB DESCRIPTION Page 2 of 6 cultural differences inherent in a multicultural society.
- Responds to all levels of emergencies according to the organization's policies and procedures.
- Guides patient care team on clinical and administrative matters.
- Performs accurate and complete admission documentation
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
- Give supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
