Senior Legal Counsel International

Because of growth and ambition, Robert Walters is assisting Laborie in their search for a Senior Legal Counsel, with an international focus.

The Senior Legal Counsel will assist the General Counsel in providing legal, compliance, privacy and company secretary support across the Laborie group corporations, with particular emphasis on European and APAC entities and businesses.

  • You will provide legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters to Laborie group corporations, boards & management, particularly those based in Europe and APAC , including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, employment law support, and litigation.
  • You will identify and assess legal risks associated with business initiatives and propose strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • You will ensure the company's operations comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to healthcare regulations, data protection & security, and industry-specific standards. Includes overseeing HCP payment reporting requirements in Europe and APAC and assist in managing compliance and privacy programs.
  • You will maintain corporate books and records for Europe and APAC entities. Administer appointments of officers and directors. Administer authority delegations. Manage registered agent relationships. Coordinate with IAB and PI as directed.
  • You will review, draft, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners, ensuring that contractual terms align with the company's objectives and legal requirements.
  • You will collaborate closely with commercial leaders and cross-functional teams to align legal strategies with business objectives and foster a proactive legal culture within the organization.
  • You will create/conduct training sessions and provide legal education to internal stakeholders to increase awareness of legal and compliance matters.
  • You will stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations, assess their impact on the company, and develop strategies for compliance.
  • You will assist in managing and resolving legal disputes, including liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • You will prepare and submit regular reports on legal and compliance activities to the General Counsel or designee and business leadership.

Profile Senior Legal Counsel

  • University Degree in Law from an accredited (preferably European) Law school.
  • You have a license to practice law in one or more European jurisdictions, with a strong preference for experience in multiple jurisdictions.
  • You have a minimum of 6 years of legal experience, with a significant portion gained in a corporate legal environment, ideally within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • You have (or willing to obtain) an in-depth knowledge of European and international healthcare regulations, data protection laws, and industry standards.
  • You have strong contract negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • You are flexible, organised and performance focused, tactical and strategic thinker.
  • You have exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • You have a proven ability to work independently and on own initiative and to take pro-active and innovative approach to managing complex legal matters while contributing to a cohesive legal team.
  • You bring strategic thinking and the ability to anticipate legal issues and provide proactive solutions.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
  • You are willing to travel as needed to support the company's regional and global legal needs.
