Oliver Wyman is now seeking an exceptional individual to join as IMEA Regional Manager of Human Capital Operations, leading the regional HC Operations function. This role will be based out of our office in Dubai.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional individual to join the IMEA HC team in a pivotal role leading the HC Operations function. Partnering with the global HC Operations leadership team to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of key HC operational function aligned with local needs but in context of a global framework
The IMEA HC Operations team is responsible for supporting staff throughout and across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, policy interpretation and situation management, coordinating payroll & benefits, and local support, delivery, and execution of generalist HR responsibilities, across the IMEA Region with a population of ~900 people and growing.
This role is integral to ensuring the smooth running of the business and the success of the HC team.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Provide thought leadership on regional HC Operations needs and strategies that span across India, Middle East and Africa, working closely with the IMEA COO, IMEA Region Head, IMEA Director of Talent, Global Director HC Operations and other relevant leaders to design approaches, and oversee the successful implementation of the approaches, processes, policies and initiatives.
Teaming with other Regional Heads of HC Operations and managing the IMEA HC Operations team to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of key HC operational functions employee relations, payroll, benefits, onboarding and exit of colleagues, Contingent Worker management, policy interpretation and development (reviewing and updating as necessary to ensure they are current) aligned with local needs but in context of a global framework.
Overseeing accurate and timely administration and delivery of operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to payroll, personnel file maintenance, Employee Transactions & Workday data entry, auditing, compliance, and providing data for financial controllers. Escalation point to help resolve any payroll and benefits related issues including relationships with external providers for the Oliver Wyman Group in IMEA
Strategic advisor to the business on HC operational matters that span across India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA). Partner with Director of Talent to coordinate talent programs, ensuring alignment with global HC Operations strategy and MMC requirements
Manage HC Operations budget for IMEA - Ensuring that costs grow only in line with business growth and management guidance, and coordinating with the regions to ensure tight governance of related spend
Actively engage stakeholders in all HC Operations or other HC related matters. The Regional Manager will manage complex and challenging issues which require (at times) decisive and quick decisions.
Work closely with Market, Office, and HC Leadership to contribute to the advancement of local office culture and engagement in line with the Oliver Wyman values
Manage the IMEA HC Ops team, ensuring the team structure and performance are adapted to the regional business needs in terms of scale, caliber and breadth of capabilities and that the team is engaged, motivated and performing well.
Set and manage regional HC Operations budget. Ensuring that costs grow only in line with business growth and management guidance
In addition, the IMEA Regional Manager of HC Operations will take lead on the following key areas-
Regional Project Management
Provide regional project management leverage to the Global Head of HC Operations, the Regional COO and the IMEA HC Leadership team(examples of projects include building a regional Exit Manual for IMEA, review of approval matrix, creating global databases and reports, global healthcare benefits/initiatives, regional benefit management, IC Management, Team connectivity, HC Ops process/technology, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits
Oversight and coordination of compensation and benefits for the IMEA region, working closely with the Director of Talent, Global head of Compensation, recruiting and local HC Operations teams.
Employee Relations
Create a fair and comfortable environment based on trust and mutual respect, advising leaders and managers on all employee relation matters.
Build credibility with all colleagues but particularly key business leaders through encouraging open dialogue and maintaining confidentiality.
Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relation matters to senior business leaders
Provide advice and counsel to all colleagues regarding employment law, policy and/or employee issues.
Perform and support employee investigations when required. Ensure enforcement of disciplinary procedures.
Ensure employee termination and exit matters are handled in a professional and empathetic manner.
Work with HCMs to implement any legislative changes to the markets
Foster relationships with external counsel and how they are deployed across the regions
Lead and provide guidance to employees and managers on issues relating to performance, fairness, and culture
Manage ER and Labour law risks, address cases/issues/exceptions, and lead regional policy compliance agenda
Collaborate with Consultant and Support Professional Talent Managers, and Market/Office leadership on disciplinary and out counsel process
Regional escalation/contact point for all employee relation matters
Policy
Lead regional communication and support colleague awareness on global, regional, and local policy
Provide guidance and answer questions on policy interpretation, including exception approvals and case management
Ensure HCMs are keeping to date with current and new legislation across the region working with the Legal Team as needed to ensure compliance to local labor requirements. Update policy & procedures in line with new and revised local legislation and directives, including being a trusted advisor to the local business for all employment related matters.
Ensure uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.
Collaborate with MMC/OW requirements to promote compliance
Ensure regional and local data management and support for audit purposes

Experience required
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
10+ years work experience in a HC related role (HC operations and generalist HR background are paramount; other HR functional specialties considered highly)
Good understanding of and exposure to professional services / consulting or multi-national corporate environment
Lead a geographically disperse/remote team
