HSE Engineer - AUH

• Responsible for implementation, monitoring, and auditing of OHSE management system across the company. Support Senior HSE Engineer and QHSE Manager Strategical OHSE planning for all business units and Advising QHSE Manager on OHS issues. Be updated with OHSE statutory requirements and fulfill compliance. OHS Manpower management. Oversee critical production activities in terms of OHSE supervision with support of OHS team, Identify unsafe act/conditions, advice field staff and workers for HSE procedures. Manage and oversee consultant/ contractors work mainly waste management, firefighting systems and Auditing agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHS MS) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively communicate Safety requirements to the workforce, peers and management.
• Assist Sr HSE Engineer and QHSE Manager in establishing OHS Objectives and Targets, Annual Safety plan and Financial Budget to achieve commitments.
• Support the Proposals team, Operations team and Projects team for HSE documentation.
• Lead a team of HSE Advisors/Officers/Specialist
• Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across all locations to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
• Ensure safety rules and regulations are fully explained to the employees and contractors.
• Participate in incident investigation teams to find out the root cause of the incident and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure all relevant HSE related document is maintained upto date and stored in an organized manner.
• Conduct and participate in Audits.
• Periodic visit to site locations in order to ensure compliance to defined HSE and quality standards.
• Regular inspections of the contractor accommodation facilities and catering services.
• Support development of HSE management system and documentation.
• Support to manage processes for disposal of waste, including hazardous wastes management.
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the HSE system, processes and practices considering international best practice.
• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for manufacturing activities (mainly mechanical fabrication, assembly, electrical, lifting, pressure testing, etc.), machineries and materials used in production process to eliminate workplace injuries and accidents.
• Finalize measures to control risk at the factory by implementing engineering controls, machine guarding and ensure control measures are followed by employees. Evaluating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Ensure adequate safety training plan developed, implemented and workers are trained accordingly. Training records are retained as per procedure for further audits. Arrange certified training from outside.
• Arrange Safety awareness program, awards and incentives for employees to motivate them for good safety practices.
• Prepare monthly, Quarterly and Annual Safety Performance report of company for management review and submission to Industrial Authority.
• Develop & Implement Onsite and offsite emergency plans. Schedule and monitor emergency mock drills.
