- Responsible for data entry and editing of loan applications for automated processing. Evaluates student/parent eligibility for the Federal Direct Loan program and Private Loans and authorizing and inputting awards in accordance with the Federal, State and Institutional policies. This requires a specialized knowledge and thorough understanding of the regulations and guidelines set forth by these entities, as well as a thorough knowledge of office policies in order to minimize institutional liability. Independent judgement and use of discretion in analyzing information is required. This also includes setting up electronic loan applications to send or re-send them and resolving rejected files. Communicate with parents, students, lenders and other agencies to resolve loan data conflicts.
- Performs specialized duties that may include, verification of data submitted by students, recalculation of financial aid applicants' eligibility. Makes required changes in the computer system to determine or modify an applicants' eligibility. Assist the Associate director with the preparation of internal and external reports, expert knowledge of Excel is required. Consults with the team manager/associate director regarding unusual cases or system problems to ensure that automated processes run smoothly.
