Caterer Middle East the F&B industry s goto source for news features analysis and trends in the region is looking for a tenacious Editor.


The ideal candidate will lead its marketleading digital print and social content and drive subscriptions to the Caterer website as well as growing the overall audience.


Alongside an indepth knowledge of the Middle East s F&B sector the Editor should be bursting with big ideas for new executions and brand extensions that deliver value to Caterer Middle East s loyal and discerning audience and the brand as a whole.

Requirements

  • The overall production execution and management of Caterer Middle East across print and digital products.
  • Maintaining a strong working relationship with the commercial team.
  • The content strategy and planning of editorial calendar across digital print video audio and social.
  • The ideation and development of creative front covers for the monthly magazine.
  • Meeting digital traffic targets and finding ways to grow the audience within brand guidelines.
  • Supporting the Group Editor with the Caterer Middle East annual Awards processes and calendar of events.
  • Ensuring all content reflects overall content/editorial strategy.
  • Determine what medium is best suited for a particular content piece and making sure it is published to deadline.
  • Ensure the titles editorial standards are met all relevant copyrights have been cleared the content is legally and morally safe content is optimised for SEO and content meets local and legal guidelines.
  • Being an ambassador for the titles.
  • Developing revenuegenerating content strategies and establishing good external relationships.
  • Representing the brands internally.
  • Use contacts and socialmedia networks to identify industry trends and react to them with strong editorial content.
  • Be able to attend events outside of office hours.
  • Embrace a digitalfirst philosophy.

Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and inspire a team of writers, reporters, and contributors to produce high-quality content for digital and print platforms. Develop and execute an effective content strategy that aligns with the brand's objectives and resonates with our target audience. Plan, assign, write, and edit articles, features, and daily online news stories, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to the brand's editorial standards. Stay updated on industry trends, news, and developments to ensure the brand's content remains timely and relevant. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including industry experts and partners, to enhance content quality and coverage. Ensure the timely publication of content across various platforms, including the brand's website, social media channels, and print publications. Monitor and analyse content performance metrics to make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and professional growth. Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field. A minimum of five years of editorial experience, prior experience in B2B publishing is preferred. Required Skills: Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills. Strong editorial skills including editing, proofreading, and fact checking. Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and visual aesthetics. Excellent organisational and project management skills. Proficient in using editorial software and tools. Strong knowledge of digital publishing platforms, content management systems, and SEO best practices. Paywall experience. Project budget management skills. Desirable Attributes: Passionate about the GCC technology market. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills. Knowledgeable about the latest trends in the travel industry. Energetic, self-motivated, and results driven. International roaster of travel writers and photographers.
