The current Birth Rate is approximately 1,250 per year with a considerable number of high-risk pregnancies. The hospital boasts a Special Care Nursery and is equipped to manage newborns from 32 weeks gestation, and an Adult Intensive Care facility.

Medical care in the maternity and gynaecology areas are provided by Specialist Obstetricians, Registrars and House Officers. In addition, local General Practitioners with obstetric qualifications support the unit.

Skills & Qualifications required:

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner
• Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or equivalent
• Demonstrated extensive clinical practice experience in obstetrics and gynaecology
• Competency in a wide range of procedures in obstetrics and gynaecology
• Demonstrated experience as an educator and teacher of medical students, trainees and medical staff
• Demonstrated willingness to adapt to and adopt new and emerging technologies and science
