The Role:
Come and join the consultant team in the adult and paediatric mixed Emergency Department (ED) of this University Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for Emergency Medicine Specialists to join a progressive team.

Eligible health workers who make the move to work with us may receive up to $70,000 in incentive payments under Scheme 2 of the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (conditions apply).

• Demonstrated clinical experience in both paediatric and adult Emergency Medicine. 
• Highly desirable qualities are experience and qualifications in paediatric emergency medicine, pre-hospital and aeromedical retrieval.

One of the biggest and busiest Emergency Departments in Queensland, providing emergency care to the residents of the greater area, as well as being the major referral centre for the whole of North Queensland.
There were over 95000 presentations to the Emergency Department in 2022.

The ED specialists cover clinical shifts in the adult and paediatric areas of the ED and short stay unit, in addition to aeromedical retrieval clinical coordination for North Queensland, the Frailty Intervention Team and EMET (Emergency medicine education and training).

The Hospital:
The hospital takes referrals for its tertiary services it provides, complex, high-level services across a wide range of specialities including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, adult and paediatric ICU, general surgery, medicine, radiation and medical oncology, transplant haematology, paediatrics, obstetrics, and neonatology to the region.

• Highly desirable qualities are experience and qualifications in paediatric emergency medicine, pre-hospital and aeromedical retrieval.
• Proof of qualification and Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• FACEM preferred.
