Consultant - Process

Responsibilities

• Guides and coaches others to achieve a high standard in technical design using Wood, client and industry standards and data in line with Project requirements. Has an in depth understanding to enable analysis and interpretation of technical designs. Possess the ability to simplify the complex to aid wider communication to stakeholders and customers.
• Has sufficient technical understanding to be able to review and interpret technical data and problems. Ensures that correct technical processes are followed and takes corrective action where identified. Uses technical understanding to communicate with and influence clients. Supports Principals in being advocate for use of new approaches.
• Strives to achieve and improve not only personal Performance but also that of their business unit and the business unit personnel. Takes personal accountability for results and keeps commitments.
• Clearly understand commercial imperatives for a project, able to evaluate main threats to the commercial position and develop contingency plans to mitigate commercial risks.
• Is able to manage technical expectations of customers without conflict. Can use their knowledge and expertise to identify the difference between customer wants and their true needs.
• Is expert at interpreting complex data and information.
• will factor in limitations of data sources when presenting findings. Will generate a range of options and appraise them before communicating more widely. Is able to design or adapt analytical tool to suit each situation.
• Understand external rules and regulations that impact business objectives will be considerate of external regulation when developing policies or processes. Uses technical expertise to develop networks within external organizations and professional bodies for the benefit of WIEPPL
• Be accountable for the best-in-class execution of all FEED, EPC, PMC projects by the Process Engineering Department to meet the budget, schedule, quality, Health, Safety, Security and the Environmental requirements of the projects from a process standpoint.
• Ensure the execution risks on projects are understood and execution reviews and audits are undertaken in order to mitigate these risks.
• Provide and promote input to the Strategic Development Group in Wood for developing the best-in-class practices and tools for project execution.
• Establish and develop relationships with all Clients (internal/external).
• Provide process engineering assistance to Wood affiliates and other departments within Wood as agreed with Senior Manager - Process.
  

Qualifications

• Engineering Graduate in Chemical Engineering (Essential)
• Master’s degree in engineering design (Desirable)
• Membership to Professional Organisations (Desirable)
• A minimum of 20 years of experience in Process Design in an engineering environment with experience of project execution for a minimum of 5 to 8 projects as lead role (Essential).
• Ability to lead large teams in a multi-polar task force-based engineering environments (Essential)
• Proven expertise in a single or multiple aspects of process design namely, FEED execution that adds value to Contract execution (Desirable).
