Senior Engineer/Instructor AMDC2
- Working Location: Oeiras, Portugal
- Security Clearance: NATO Secret
- Language: High proficiency level in English language
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
A minimum requirement of a Bachelors degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience
Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidates particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post
2+ years professional experience in delivering AMDC2/C2systems training to adult learners and proven ability to convey
Experience in providing training on highly technical subjects to both non-technical personnel as well as technical specialists. (A national qualification, competency or certification in teaching or instructional techniques for IT would be appreciated)
Advanced knowledge in UNIX based or Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, preferably as system administrator
General up-to-date knowledge of computer system architectures, client/server, LAN/WAN and networking concepts, naming services, database management, scripting techniques
Practical experience in the system administration of networked distributed systems
Technical knowledge of one of the NATO AMDC2/C2 systems, like ACCS (LOC1 and/or Add-3), AIRC2IS, ICC, MASE Preferably on ACCS
Working experience in Database administration, preferably Oracle database systems
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
UNIX/Linux Administrator experience
Oracle Database knowledge
Previous experience with online and blended learning technologies supporting the assigned technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Experience in virtualization technologies
Knowledge on NATO BMD doctrine and systems
NATO CIS Technical Instructor Course
Knowledge of Air Operations
Knowledge or experience of NATO AirC2 planning and tasking systems
Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
DUTIES/ROLE:
Prepare, maintain and deliver theoretical and practical training on NATO AMDC2/C2 systems, including all assigned services and associated capabilities or systems. This includes the technical and administrative skills related to the operations of AMDC2/C2 Systems, as well as operator (end-user) focussed training
Carry out all required lesson preparation, including rehearsals and dry runs to ensure a smooth and professional presentation that is conducive to an effective learning environment
Produce and support the required visual, audio-visual or multimedia aids including teaching notes and handouts
Contribute to the reliable operation of AMDC2/C2 products and conduct hands-on exercises on different levels in close cooperation with the relevant AMDC2/C2 experts in the Agency
Apply NCI Agency Academy Quality Assurance Policies
Supervises and conducts training delivery in a Mobile Training Team (MTT) and in e-learning courses where required
Deputize for higher-grade staff, especially deputise for the Section Head, Staff Officer/Instructor C2 (NAC CCC 0010)
Manage all assigned training to the area of expertise, for which will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Supervise the alignment of course documentation and material with current Bi-Strategic Command (Bi-SC) Directives for Individual Training
Supervise preparation, update, and alignment of assigned courses with AMDC2/C2 services supported by the NCI Agency
Provides instruction and conducts hands-on exercises on all technical aspects required for the reliable operation of AMDC2/C2 products including ACCS on different levels in close cooperation with the relevant AMDC2/C2 experts in the Agency
Maintains a high level of expertise in the areas above and stays abreast of related best practise,
Conducts NCI Agency business processes to include Project Management, Time Accounting and Service Management
May be required to represent the Organization in meetings, workshops, conferences and external
