Commis Chef

• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations.
• Advise Sous Chef/Chef de Partie/Demi Chef of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
• May assist by performing ware washer or other kitchen duties as needed.
• Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins and counters.
• Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and MAF Food Central Kitchen’s requirements.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 2+ years of related culinary experience, at restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Experience working with high volume production, banquet experience preferred.
• Passion for the food industry and MAF’s mission to create a sustainable food system that’s better for us all.
