Requirements

1 Qualifications and The school prefers people with:

Professional qualifications in counseling, psychotherapy, counseling psychology or play therapy or relevant

Professional registration as a practitioner with a relevant and recognized body

Up to date child Protection and Safeguarding training

Experience within an IB school, preferably with Primary school experience

Minimum of 2 years experience within a school

2 Knowledge and He/She should:

possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school, in particular he/she should be able to communicate effectively in English .

Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student pool

have a high level of understanding of current research as to how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best

be able to develop rapport with students and create an atmosphere of trust and respect

be adept and accomplished at primary school counselling and the implementation of a comprehensive School Counselling program

be able to model and promote the IB Learner Profile

be able to participate fully in an expanding IB school and, in particular, help to develop the team spirit within the inclusion team

have the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload

Providing individual and group counseling as well as classroom support: A school counselor provides counseling to students who need support with personal or social issues that may affect their academic performance or They may also facilitate group and classroom sessions for

Developing and implementing a comprehensive school counselling program that promotes student

Providing crisis intervention for students who are in

Collaborating with teachers, other professionals and parents to address concerns and provide recommendations for support and

Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring that student information is kept private unless there is a risk of harm to the student or

To participate in the induction program for new staff

Conducting workshops for the whole school community and for interest groups within the community and developing professional learning for staff members
