Job Description

- Conducting cognitive, physical, speech, and language evaluations to determine the nature of the injury and the best course of treatment
- Conducting research in order to develop new treatment methods for patients with similar conditions
- Explaining test results to patients and their families in a language they can understand
- Coordinating with other healthcare providers such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers to develop treatment plans that address all areas of need
- Recommending modifications to the patient’s environment to facilitate recovery
- Performing neuropsychological assessments to determine whether patients are able to safely return to work or school after an injury
- Providing emotional support and counseling services to help patients cope with their injuries
- Conducting training sessions for other medical professionals who will be working with the patient during treatment
- Using computer software to create visual representations of patient data
