MODACAR is seeking an expertlevel auto upholsterer. You will have an opportunity to join a team of craftsmen of the highestlevel restoring customizing and building worldclass collectible automobiles at our stateoftheart facility in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. Candidates must have a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Your skills must be topnotch and produce extremely highquality results. We need someone who takes direction and completes jobs with limited supervision.

Under the supervision of the Production Manager the Auto Upholsterer is responsible for using an assortment of materials to make seats cover dashboard and door stitching convertible tops steering wheel stitching and headliner covering. The Auto Upholsterer will also be responsible for covering wall panels and other parts of custom vans swing window sills and window coverings.

Current Available Positions:

• Auto Experienced/Skilled Upholstery Technician Foam fabrication and covering of auto seating and soft goods with highquality leathers/materials.
• Total Vacancy: 2
• Experience/knowledge of basic hand power and upholstery tools including industrial sewing machine nail guns hot knives skivers and hand tool skills.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work with all types materials including leather vinyl cloth and carpet
• Experience in a variety of stitching styles and threads and upholstery techniques to duplicate original and custom seat patterns
• Having indepth knowledge of modern upholstery techniques
• Must be able to work on seats tops carpets dashboards doors headliners and all other aspects of interior refinishing
• Experience with classic vehicles is a plus
• Ability to multitask this position is a very detailed oriented position
• Ability to visualize design ideas
• Work well individually and as a member of a team
• Ability to stand sit and kneel for long period of time
• Ability to lift seats and other items

Qualifications:

• The applicant should be confident and have a total of 10 years of experience in the upholstery industry. Of these 10 years the candidate must have 7 years of experience in auto upholstery (upholstery: 3 years & sewing: 4 years).
• Must be reliable and seeking a longterm career within the company. (experience requirement could be reduced based on Portfolio)
• Formal training or significant experience in highend automobiles classic cars and automotive interior fabrication
• Must be able to communicate in English both written and spoken

Pay: 3500 SAR Salary

Schedule:

• Working hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday through Thursday.
• Weekend: Friday
• Overtime may be required
• Monthly pay

Location: Jeddah Saudi Arabia

Job Responsibilities:

• Versatility in working with a wide variety of premiumquality upholstery materials
• Creating patterns and templates
• Dismantling seats for upholstery preparation
• Seat foam fabrication (build up and contour foam)
• Handcrafted upholstery work
• Headliner removal repair and installation
• Producing highquality steeringwheel cover stitching (Leather and Alcantara) using multiple stitching techniques
• Repairs stitches and replaces convertible tops
• Measures new padding and covering materials and cuts them to required dimensions using knife or shear
• Sews covering material together using sewing machine
• Demonstrate complex upholstery techniques (i.e. topstitch piping binding decorative stitch).
• Ensure sewing machines are in good working order
• Fits covering to seat frame and secures it with glue and tacks.
• Repairs or replaces upholstery in automobiles buses and trucks: Removes old upholstery from seats and door panels of vehicles.
• Cut vinyl upholstery fabric according to patterns to fit wood backboards in the assembly of handcrafted equipment pads seats etc.
• Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.
• Determine department inventory and request needed material from the Production Manager
• Conducting quality checks on completed orders.
• Foster a positive team environment and demonstrate a continual willingness to learn and serve a team member.
• Staying update with new trends and techniques in automotive upholstery through watching videos being a member in autoupholstery communities and experimenting.
