Are you an accounting professional with a knack for details and a passion for the Non-Profit industry? We are on the hunt for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment processing, and account reconciliation. You will be working closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations. Responsibilities

As our Accounts Payable Specialist, you will

  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring that all invoices are accurately coded, matched, and processed in a timely manner.
  • Perform weekly check runs, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, assisting in the monthly close process.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any invoice or payment-related issues.
  • Maintain and update vendor files, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the accounts payable function.
  • Comply with all financial policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role, preferably in the Non-Profit industry.
  • Proficiency in coding and matching invoices, preparing journal entries, performing check runs, and conducting account reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
