CVD Equipment Corporation, located in Central Islip, NY, has an opportunity for a Sheet Metal Mechanic who will perform tasks related to the preparation and operation of the Press Brake and PEM Equipment to fabricate Sheet Metal parts which are used in the manufacture of Semiconductor, Nanotechnology, and Industrial Deposition Process Equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Proactively adhere to all safety standards and established protocols.
- Program, set-up, and operate the Press Brake equipment ensuring accurate calculations to regulate bend sequences, speed, feed, depth and angle of bends, etc.
- Set-up and operate PEM Machine per specified requirements.
- Ensure optimal machine performance and quality standards.
- Prepare machined parts, tools, sheet metal frames, etc. for continued finishing:
- Burr sharp edges; hand trim, file, and/or sand
- Grain sheet metal
- Clean surfaces to be coated or painted.
- Prepare paperwork for production control.
- Perform other Sheet Metal fabrication processes as assigned (prep, paint and powder coat, clean equipment and tools, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to company manufacturing standards and methods.

Education & Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1-3 years of Sheet Metal fabrication experience operating Press Brake and PEM machines.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings-preferred
- Attention to detail
- Must have good communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.
- Computer literate
- Work well independently and within a team to coordinate efforts with colleagues.
- Effectively manage time; complete tasks as required.
- Ability to regularly lift 30-50 pounds.
