JISR Software Support Center (JSSC) System Engineer
- Working Location: Mons, Belgium
- Security Clearance: NATO Secret
- Language: High proficiency level in English language
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
Experienced system engineer with proven level 2 support roles in a multinational and/or military organisation of minimum 5 years in various roles (Windows Server Administrator, Windows Client Administration, Active Directory Administration, Network Administrator, Storage solutions specialist, Virtualization, IIS web hosting, Linux Administration, Containerization, Azure (or other cloud providers), Azure Devops, Webservers on Linux)
Microsoft SQL Server Administration knowledge (installation, configuration, maintenance, backup policies)
Remote server administration
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WSUS, GPOs, Domain Federation Services/multi domain environment
MS SQL scripting knowledge, data consistency and data clean [1] up based on consultation with the user community and development team
Very good virtualization skills, preferably on VMware with System Center integration
Hardware and software configuration of Server hosting platforms, custom disk configurations with specific storage controllers, RAID configuration, redundancy and safety approach in all levels of designing in implementing of the solutions
Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting
xml file manipulation, xsds validation and maintenance and automation done through PowerShell
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
PostGres, Splunk, IBM Analyst Notebook, iBridge
Previous knowledge of Intel-FS FAS, Release Server, HMART constitute and advantage
Previous experience in NATO, FAS support, software lifecycle support, knowledge of NATO policies and process
DUTIES/ROLE:
Install, maintain, monitor and support the JSSC Cluster 2 applications (Intel-FS, ANB, Release Server, HMART) mainly in support of the NATO exercises, but when exercises are not being planned, prepared for or executed to be able to support the mentioned systems for current Operations, under the CSLA.
Provide timely response and resolution to all support tickets (incidents, service requests and changes) following the internal processes
Escalate issues to level 3 support team as appropriate, support in the troubleshooting and debugging of found issues
Offer Subject Matter Expertise for the Cluster 2 applications to the user community and to COIs
Involvement in User Acceptance Testing for new software releases in both organizing and test execution
Apply patches and install ISR software updates, coordinate outages
Participate in NRF/Enterprise CABs as needed to support new software releases in the validation and verification process
Provide support in maintaining the NATO Software Factory infrastructure, user and rights management, software updates and internal activities
Interface between JSSC Cluster 2 applications and inter-operable FASes from other Service Centers
Become a reliable Level 2 support team member and provide the engineering bridge between the Level 2 and Level 3 support teams
Propose/implement Domain Values clean-up tasks in close coordination with the Operational Sponsor, User community and project teams for future increments
Ensure the NATO Software Factory system setup matches the requirements for the Intel-FS Spiral 1 to Spiral 2 data migration
Provide other daily Level 2 support for the operational users, as required
Make suggestions and proactive improvements based on gathered experience and best practices
