Power Distribution & Reliability (Depot / Facilities Focus)
- Supervise installation of HV/MV/LV switchgear transformers RMUs MDBs/SMDBs busduct/cables containment earthing and standby/emergency power systems; verify redundancy philosophy maintainability and safe segregation for depot operational loads (workshops plant rooms OCC/admin external areas).
- Review and/or validate load schedules load flow shortcircuit voltage drop and protection coordination/selectivity studies; ensure settings align with operational criticality and staged commissioning requirements.
- Witness and support FAT/SAT/IST and site acceptance for major electrical packages (switchgear/transformers/UPS/EPMS/generators) ensuring documentation and punch-list closure prior to energization.
Depot-Specific Electrical Systems & Heavy-Duty Interfaces
- Oversee power and interfaces for maintenance/workshop equipment (e.g. heavy machine feeds workshop distribution specialist equipment supplies) and ensure correct isolation interlocks and safe access for maintainers.
- Supervise electrical provisions for lifting/hoisting systems and facility equipment packages where applicable (interface coordination power quality needs controls and safe isolations).
- Ensure appropriate electrical design/installation for external lighting roadway/yard lighting fencing/perimeter systems and power to ancillary structures across the depot campus.
Codes Authority Compliance & Fire/Life Safety
- Enforce applicable electrical and life safety requirements (e.g. NFPA/NEC or equivalent local/IEC standards) for building/facility electrical systems including emergency power availability fire-rated cabling where specified and safe routing/segregation in critical areas (OCC/BOCC electrical rooms battery rooms data rooms).
- Coordinate electrical compliance actions with authorities/approvals requirements ensuring that inspection/testing evidence is complete for energization and occupancy milestones.
Systems Integration (BMS/SCADA ELV Controls)
- Coordinate electrical interfaces with BMS/SCADA EPMS fire alarm security/access control CCTV telecom/IT networks and mechanical loads (HVAC/ventilation pumps) to confirm control power points lists network requirements and time synchronization where required.
- Maintain and manage interface documentation and proactively resolve clashes/gaps between civil/structural and MEP systems; participate in multidisciplinary interface meetings and drive timely resolution.
- Support BIM/interface workflows where used for coordinated delivery (clash avoidance constructability interface registers).
