The Mechanical Control Technician is responsible for inspecting maintaining and repairing mechanical control systems including HVAC and pumping systems. The role involves working closely with BMS teams performing testing and calibration of field devices and ensuring accurate system integration and functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspection and preventive maintenance of mechanical control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair control circuits for HVAC equipment pumps fans actuators valves and dampers.
- Maintain and calibrate field devices including temperature sensors pressure transducers flow meters and thermostats.
- Support BMS team with control point testing feedback verification and loop testing.
- Install and configure motorized valves damper actuators and control panels based on schematics.
- Assist with the maintenance of VFDs and starter panels.
- Conduct functional testing to ensure control sequence performance.
- Document control parameters and equipment status.
- Collaborate with electrical HVAC and BMS teams for integrated system functionality.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems: HVAC chilled water pumping and ventilation
- Ability to read control diagrams wiring schematics and P&ID drawings
- Proficient with multimeter loop testers and calibration tools
- Experience with Siemens Honeywell Schneider or similar BMS interfaces (advantageous)
- Knowledge of low voltage control wiring relays and signal interlocks
