Job Description
AECOM are currently a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The Structural Engineer will be at the forefront of creating elegant efficient and sustainable designs for a diverse range of projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects contractors and clients to deliver structures that meet and exceed expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop structural designs and detailed engineering calculations for buildings bridges and other structures.
- Use advanced analysis software (e.g. ETABS SAP2000 SAFE STAAD Rhino) and Grasshopper) to model and optimize designs.
- Prepare detailed drawings specifications and reports in collaboration with CAD technicians and BIM specialists.
- Conduct feasibility studies site assessments and structural investigations.
- Ensure designs comply with local building codes standards and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with architects project managers and other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
- Manage project timelines budgets and deliverables to meet client expectations.
- Attend design and site meetings to monitor progress and resolve technical challenges.
- Utilize advanced structural analysis software to model and simulate different design scenarios.
- Design structural elements such as beams columns and foundations to withstand loads and stresses.
- Optimize designs to achieve maximum efficiency while adhering to safety codes and standards.
- Work with architects and clients to develop innovative and sustainable design concepts.
- Create initial sketches and prototypes to explore design possibilities and technical solutions.
- Incorporate cutting-edge materials and construction techniques into design proposals.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 8 years post-undergraduate experience or minimum 6 years post-undergraduate experience if chartered
- Experience in residential high rise or hospitality projects
- B. Sc or BEng in Civil / Structural Engineering International Accreditation preferred (MIstructE or equivalent).
- Local Authority Engineer registration preferred.
