Job Description
- Communicates directly with guests i.e. presents menus helps with recommendations receives orders places orders and handles payments.
- Ensures proper appearance (condition of uniforms) and grooming whilst on duty.
- Handles the guest greeting upon arrival and their seating through the hostess.
- Ensures that under no circumstances the entrance is left unattended.
- Maintains a professional / friendly yet discreet relationship with the outlet patrons to ensure their wellbeing.
- Makes himself / herself familiar with all menus promotions and other relevant issues concerning the outlet (product knowledge).
- Reports cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate Supervisor.
Qualifications :
- Good communication skills in English language with proficiency in speaking reading and writing. Additional language skills are advantageous.
- Servicefocused personality is essential with a warm and welcoming demeanour.
- Flexibility on doing extra hours break shifts and other assigned additional tasks.
- Previous experience in a similar role in a luxury fivestar hotel is preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years experience in customer service or hospitality industry.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move continuously throughout the work shift.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage offerings including awareness of common dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Proficiency in using restaurant management software and pointofsale (POS) systems.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff servers and management.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
