Desired candidate profile
1. BIM Strategy Development and Implementation
- Developing BIM Execution Plans (BEP): Leading the creation of BIM Execution Plans that outline how BIM will be implemented throughout the project, including workflows, collaboration protocols, and standards.
- BIM Implementation: Defining and ensuring the effective implementation of BIM workflows, including 3D modeling, clash detection, and data management processes.
- Coordinating BIM Processes: Managing the integration of BIM processes into the design, construction, and operation phases, ensuring that project data is shared and updated across all teams.
2. Team Leadership and Coordination
- Leading BIM Teams: Managing a team of BIM specialists, modelers, and technicians, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the creation of accurate models and adherence to project requirements.
- Collaboration Across Disciplines: Ensuring that all teams (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.) are working cohesively, exchanging information seamlessly, and resolving any issues that arise during model development.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Facilitating collaboration between design, engineering, and construction teams to make sure that BIM is used effectively across all phases of the project.
3. Model Management and Quality Control
- Model Review and Coordination: Reviewing and approving BIM models for accuracy, consistency, and completeness, ensuring that they are fully integrated and free from conflicts or errors.
- Clash Detection: Overseeing the use of BIM tools for clash detection, ensuring that potential conflicts between different building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are identified and resolved before construction begins.
- Quality Control: Implementing quality control procedures to ensure that models are built to the required standards and that they are useful throughout the project lifecycle.
4. BIM Data Management
- Data Integration: Ensuring that all data related to the project is properly integrated into the BIM system, including architectural, structural, and MEP data, and that the models are linked to relevant databases.
- Version Control: Managing version control for BIM models and ensuring that all project stakeholders are working with the most up-to-date versions of the models.
- Information Flow Management: Managing the flow of information between various project stakeholders, ensuring that data is exchanged efficiently, and all teams have the information they need.
