Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • E-commerce Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement an e-commerce strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement in online sales performance.
  • Platform Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the e-commerce platform, including product listings, inventory updates, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure optimal website performance and user experience.
  • Digital Marketing Integration:
  • Work with marketing teams to design campaigns that drive traffic and increase conversions.
  • Implement SEO, SEM, and PPC strategies to enhance site visibility.
  • Optimize product descriptions and images for better search engine rankings.
  • Customer Experience:
  • Enhance the customer journey on the e-commerce platform, ensuring easy navigation and mobile-friendly design.
  • Focus on improving site speed and reducing cart abandonment rates.
  • Sales Analysis and Reporting:
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics such as sales, conversion rates, and traffic.
  • Generate reports to provide insights and recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Product Management:
  • Manage product categorization, pricing, and promotions to ensure competitive market positioning.
  • Conduct market research to better understand customer preferences.
  • Vendor and Partner Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
  • Compliance and Security:
  • Ensure the e-commerce platform complies with legal, security, and data privacy standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest e-commerce regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in e-commerce management, digital marketing, or related roles.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento.
  • Experience with marketplace platforms like Amazon, Talabat, and Noon.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics and marketing tools like Google Ads and Facebook Ads Manager.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and website management is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools and email marketing software.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles for e-commerce.

Desired candidate profile

1. E-Commerce Platform Knowledge

  • Platform Expertise: Proficiency in popular e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, or custom-built solutions.
  • Site Management: Ability to manage and update product listings, design features, and user experience on the platform.
  • Integration Skills: Familiarity with integrating third-party tools like payment gateways, inventory management systems, CRM software, and shipping solutions.

2. Digital Marketing

  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization): Optimizing product listings, categories, and pages for search engines to improve organic visibility and drive traffic.
  • PPC Advertising: Running paid ad campaigns on platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Instagram Ads to increase conversions.
  • Email Marketing: Creating targeted email campaigns to nurture leads, increase repeat purchases, and promote offers.
  • Social Media Marketing: Promoting products on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest) to drive traffic and increase engagement.

3. Product Management and Merchandising

  • Product Listings: Creating detailed, engaging product descriptions, high-quality images, and proper categorization for better discoverability.
  • Pricing Strategies: Developing competitive pricing strategies and ensuring that pricing is updated regularly.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and working with supply chain teams to ensure product availability.

4. User Experience (UX) & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

  • Website Optimization: Improving website navigation, page load speeds, and overall design to enhance the user experience.
  • A/B Testing: Conducting A/B tests on landing pages, product pages, and checkout processes to identify areas of improvement and increase conversion rates.
  • Mobile Optimization: Ensuring that the online store is fully responsive and optimized for mobile users.

5. Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analytics Tools: Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, or similar to track website traffic, sales trends, and customer behavior.
  • Sales Analysis: Monitoring sales performance, identifying trends, and adjusting strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Customer Insights: Analyzing customer data to understand preferences, buying behavior, and create personalized shopping experiences.

6. Customer Service and Support

  • Managing Customer Inquiries: Responding to customer questions, concerns, or issues regarding products, shipping, returns, etc.
  • Handling Returns and Refunds: Managing return policies, ensuring customers are satisfied while maintaining profitability.
  • Building Customer Loyalty: Developing strategies to encourage repeat business, such as loyalty programs, referral systems, and customer engagement tactics.

7. Supply Chain & Logistics Management

  • Order Fulfillment: Overseeing the process of order fulfillment, working with warehouses and shipping partners to ensure timely delivery.
