Job Title: IT Administrator
Job Location: Dubai
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain cloud computing environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Administer and support virtualization platforms, particularly VMware.
- Manage Azure Active Directory and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
- Maintain and manage Windows servers and Exchange environments and SharePoint configurations.
- Manage and maintain Mimecast email security solutions.
- Ensure endpoint security using Sophos XTR and Sophos firewalls configurations.
- Perform regular backups and restore operations using Acronis/ OneDrive backups.
- Deploy and manage Intune policies for device and application management.
- Provide technical support, firmware updates, patch management and troubleshooting software, applications and hardware.
- Monitor system performance and security, ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Document IT procedures and maintain accurate records of configurations and changes.
- Ensure users accessibility, utilization and stability with required application updates, performance and stability of their machines.
- Knowledge of IT onboarding and offboarding new users, servers and services as per the company policy and best practices.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3- 4 years of experience in IT support and IT systems administration roles.
- Extensive experience in cloud computing, specifically Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Windows server environments with patching.
- Experience with 365 Exchange and email security solutions like Mimecast.
- Experience with endpoint security solutions, especially Sophos.
- Knowledge of backup solutions such as Acronis.
- Experience deploying and managing Intune policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in network troubleshooting and configuration of network switches, NAT / Access policies as per best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

System and Network Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and workstations.
- Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Ensure the performance, availability, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime by responding to system failures.

Server Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server, Linux, and Unix systems (depending on the organization's environment).
- Ensure the proper configuration of active directory, DNS, DHCP, and other essential server roles.
- Handle the installation and maintenance of server software, security patches, and updates.

Security and Access Control:
- Implement and maintain security measures such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Ensure that user access and permissions are correctly set up, with strong password policies, user authentication, and authorization controls.
- Monitor and analyze security alerts to prevent breaches or attacks.
- Regularly update and patch systems to protect against vulnerabilities.
- Perform data backups and ensure the integrity of backups through routine testing.

Software and Hardware Management:
- Manage the deployment and licensing of essential software and applications, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
- Track and maintain hardware assets, including computers, printers, and network devices, ensuring proper functioning and replacements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues, providing technical support to users when needed.

User Support and Help Desk:
- Provide technical support to employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, or network issues.
- Serve as the main point of contact for IT-related problems and offer solutions in a timely and professional manner.
- Create and manage user accounts, assign permissions, and help users with configuration changes and system access issues.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Set up and manage backup systems to ensure data is regularly backed up and can be recovered if necessary.
- Implement and test disaster recovery plans to ensure the organization can quickly recover from system failures, data loss, or cyberattacks.
- Monitor and review logs to track backup health and completion.

System Monitoring and Optimization:
- Continuously monitor system performance using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Splunk.
- Optimize server and network performance, making adjustments to configuration settings as needed.
- Regularly check system logs and reports to identify potential issues and proactively resolve them.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Create and maintain inventories for hardware and software assets, including licenses and maintenance records.
- Generate reports on system performance, security audits, backup status, and user issues.

Collaboration with Other Teams:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., development, network security, and operations teams) to ensure IT systems align with business needs.
- Provide support for other IT staff in implementing projects or troubleshooting complex issues.
