SAP FICO Consultant

Roles and responsibilities

• We are seeking a dedicated SAP FICO Consultant to join our team.
• You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our SAP system, including designing, configuring, testing, and supporting all FICO module operations.
• Your role will include working closely with our finance team to understand their needs and creating custom solutions using SAP FICO, as well as providing ongoing training and support.
• You should be well-versed in financial accounting and controlling, with a strong understanding of SAP systems.

• Design, test, and debug SAP FICO modules
• Provide support and training to end-users
• Document and maintain system functionality
• Work closely with other module SAP consultants to ensure system consistency
• Comply with project plans and industry standards
• Stay updated with the latest SAP FICO features and updates
  

Experience & Education

• Proven work experience 8+ years as an SAP FICO consultant or similar role
• Deep understanding of SAP FICO modules and configuration settings
• Knowledge of financial accounting and controlling principles
• Experience with SAP ERP and other business process software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and training skills

Desired candidate profile

• Financial Accounting (FI) Module Implementation:

  • Configure and implement the FI module of SAP, ensuring it meets the specific needs of the organization.
  • Set up financial accounts, company codes, business areas, and other financial structures.
  • Configure General Ledger (G/L), Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting.
  • Ensure integration between FI and other modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP).

• Controlling (CO) Module Implementation:

  • Set up and configure the CO module to support cost management and profitability analysis.
  • Implement Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Profit Centers, Internal Activities, Product Costing, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
  • Configure cost allocation methods, controlling areas, and assessment cycles to allow accurate cost tracking and analysis.

• Business Process Analysis:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their financial and controlling requirements.
  • Analyze current financial processes and identify areas for improvement or automation within the SAP FICO framework.
  • Design and document business processes and workflows for financial accounting and controlling functions.

• SAP FICO Customization:

  • Customize and configure the SAP FICO module based on the specific business needs, including chart of accounts, fiscal year variants, posting periods, and document types.
  • Implement specific company policies and regulatory requirements into the SAP system to ensure compliance.
  • Make adjustments to standard reports or create custom reports in SAP to meet business reporting requirements.

• Integration with Other Modules:

  • Ensure seamless integration of SAP FICO with other SAP modules such as SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), SAP PP (Production Planning), SAP HCM (Human Capital Management), and SAP BW (Business Warehouse).
  • Support cross-functional business processes that require data flow between SAP FICO and other systems.

• Data Migration:

  • Assist with data migration from legacy systems to SAP, ensuring financial data is transferred accurately.
  • Map old system data to the SAP FICO structure and ensure smooth data upload using tools like LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench) or BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces).

• Testing and Training:

  • Conduct system testing for FI and CO configurations to ensure they are working correctly (e.g., unit testing, integration testing).
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues found during testing.
  • Develop training materials and provide end-user training for financial and controlling teams to help them navigate the SAP system effectively.

• Reporting and Financial Statements:

  • Configure and generate financial reports, such as Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss (P&L) Statements, and Tax Reports.
  • Configure SAP FICO reporting tools (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Analytics, Fiori Apps, SAP BW).
  • Ensure that reporting meets internal and external regulatory standards, including GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.

• Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide post-implementation support for SAP FICO-related issues, resolving problems and ensuring system stability.
  • Troubleshoot errors and discrepancies in financial transactions or reports, providing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
