Roles and responsibilities
- Inspection and Compliance: Conduct on-site inspections to ensure that construction activities adhere to project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant codes and standards.
- Quality Control: Monitor and assess the quality of workmanship, materials, and construction methods to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, including daily reports, photos, and any deviations from project specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address and resolve any issues related to construction quality and compliance.
- Abu Dhabi Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of local regulations, standards, and construction practices in Abu Dhabi to ensure projects meet regional requirements.
- Consultancy Experience: Apply your consultancy background to provide valuable insights and recommendations for optimizing construction processes.
- Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety regulations on construction sites to ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Testing and Validation: Oversee material testing processes and coordinate with laboratories to validate the quality of construction materials used in the projects.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on construction progress, highlighting any deviations or potential risks to project timelines.
- Abu Dhabi Permitting: Facilitate the necessary permits and approvals from local authorities in Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Civil Inspector on road, bridge, highway, tunnel, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi's construction regulations and experience working on projects within the region.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in inspection documentation.
Desired candidate profile
1. Site Inspections and Monitoring

2. Compliance with Codes and Regulations
- Building Codes: Ensuring that construction is being carried out in compliance with local, state, and national building codes, as well as environmental and safety regulations.
- Legal and Regulatory Standards: Monitoring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including permits, licenses, and environmental guidelines.
- Safety Regulations: Enforcing safety regulations on-site, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring that construction workers and site visitors are protected.
3. Testing and Documentation
- Material Testing: Overseeing and conducting tests on construction materials, such as concrete, soil, and steel, to ensure they meet the specifications for strength, durability, and quality.
- Testing Methods: Ensuring proper testing methods are followed for materials and processes, such as compaction tests, slump tests for concrete, and non-destructive testing for structural integrity.
- Documenting Inspections: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections, test results, and site conditions. Preparing inspection reports, including any deviations from the approved plans, and documenting corrective actions taken.
4. Coordination with Contractors and Engineers
- Collaboration with Engineers: Working closely with project engineers, architects, and construction managers to ensure technical requirements are met and to address any issues that arise during construction.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinating with subcontractors to ensure that their work aligns with the approved plans and specifications.
- Issue Resolution: Identifying any issues or discrepancies in construction work and collaborating with contractors and engineers to resolve them in a timely manner.
5. Monitoring Schedule and Budget Compliance
- Project Timelines: Ensuring that the construction project is progressing according to the schedule, identifying any delays, and reporting them to the project management team.
- Cost Control: Monitoring the use of resources and materials on-site to ensure that the project stays within budget. Reporting any material wastage, inefficiencies, or other issues that may affect the budget.
