Roles and responsibilities
The Workshop Storekeeper is responsible for managing the inventory, tools, and materials required for the refurbishment and maintenance of offshore pedestal crane components. He is to ensure correct control of goods in/out in the workshop. This role ensures that all necessary items are available, properly stored, and accounted for while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety and organizational standards.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify the Workshop Manager of shortages or reorder requirements.
Material Handling and Storage:
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of tools, components, and consumables to prevent damage or loss.
- Organize the store for easy access and efficient retrieval of items.
- Follow industry best practices for the storage of specialized equipment, such as hydraulic components and lubricants.
Procurement Support:
- Coordinate with procurement teams to requisition spare parts, tools, and consumables as needed for ongoing projects.
- Liaise with vendors or suppliers to address discrepancies or issues with deliveries.
Issuance and Tracking:
- Issue tools, parts, and materials to workshop personnel as required, ensuring proper documentation.
- Track and record the usage of tools and consumables to maintain accountability.
- Ensure that borrowed tools and equipment are returned in good condition.
Maintenance and Calibration:
- Monitor the condition of tools and equipment and coordinate regular maintenance or calibration.
- Identify damaged or unserviceable tools and initiate repair or replacement procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions and prepare reports for the Workshop Manager.
- Generate monthly and project-specific inventory reports as required.
- Assist in audits related to inventory and asset management.
Desired candidate profile
ation:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a certification in storekeeping, inventory management, or logistics is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in inventory management or storekeeping, preferably in the oil and gas or heavy equipment sector.
- Familiarity with offshore pedestal crane components and related materials is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic components used in offshore cranes.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and tools.
